Events

Week in Cities
During fall break, first year students travel to NYC to network with alumni, learn about company culture, and see corporate office spaces at businesses like Google, American Express, AB InBev, L’Oreal, Pepperidge Farm, and more.

Member Education
Intimate roundtable sessions with Professors, Diversity Conference prep, and sessions throughout the year spanning topics like How to Ace your Internship, How to Work with Agencies, or How to Use Nielsen.

Corporate Education
These workshops are led by sponsored company representatives, providing education and skill development opportunities for members. Connect in-person and in-depth with companies during experiential events like a store-walk with Frito-Lay or educational events such as How to Evaluate Advertising from Mars Inc. or How Seasonality Effects Marketing from Hershey. Visitors in 2017-2018 included Zillow, Cardinal, P&G, Hershey, Mars, General Motors, and
Frito-Lay.

Marketing Symposium
This flagship event kicks-off the academic year and spans a half day, exposing First Year students to 8+ companies and aiding Second Year students with full-time career decisions.

Case Competitions
Participate in both internal and external club case competitions with your team for a chance to present in front of top companies, expand your marketing imagination, and exercise your learned frameworks. Past case competitions have included the UNC J&J Marketing Case Competition and the Elite 8 Brand Management Case Competition.

Social Events
This is the “emotional benefit.” There are many opportunities to talk marketing during weekly informal lunches with members at Marketing Mondays, lunch & learns with professors and alumni, or over a drink with our large member base.

Brand Challenge
An annual event held for the student body during Fuqua Friday, your team will be briefed by companies like Pepperidge Farm or Coca-Cola to creatively market a product in a way that highlights the brand’s value proposition!

Networking Events
From cross-industry Speed Networking, 1:1 Marketing Buddy mentorships, alumni business leader lunch & learns, to Networking Chats with second year students, you will be exposed to students, alumni, and marketing professionals with diverse backgrounds.

MILE Training Series
The Marketing Integrated Learning Experience (MILE) is our interview preparation series. Four half-day intensive sessions designed to develop your marketing interview know-how (fundamentals, behaviorals, technicals, and cases). The road to your internship is long, but we help you cover the full mile step-by-step.
